Nightfood was developed by leading sleep and nutrition experts and formulated with minimal sleep disruptive ingredients (excess sugar, excess fat, excess calories, caffeine in certain flavors) and added ingredients that are understood to support relaxation and better sleep quality.

What does it mean to be “sleep-friendly”? Does it contain medicine or sleep-aids?
Nightfood does not contain sleep-aid substances or drugs, and it’s not a dietary supplement. It’s simply a better-for-you and more sleep-friendly choice for anybody already eating ice cream at night. Sleep-friendly means we optimized the macro-nutrient and ingredient profiles of our products for better sleep quality. Everybody knows that what you eat before bed matters. So, we removed/minimized stuff that’s in most other ice creams that can be sleep disruptive (excess sugar, excess fat, excess calories, caffeine in certain flavors), and we considered the nighttime digestive process and the existing research linking sleep to nutritional choices. What's the deal with the tryptophan content?
Remember feeling sleepy at that last Thanksgiving holiday dinner? Each pint of Nightfood contains as much naturally-occurring tryptophan as a quarter pound of turkey. The amino acid tryptophan is used by the body to produce serotonin and melatonin and these hormones play a critical role in regulating sleep onset and sleep quality. Each serving of Nightfood contains 100mg of tryptophan and is twice as much per serving as many leading ice cream brands.
Why are there added protein, pre-biotic fiber and lactase?
Each serving contains at least 8 grams of protein. Casein is a slow digesting protein that helps with satiety and cravings. Prebiotic fiber is key for gut-health, which research indicates may be a key to better sleep quality. The lactase enzyme was added to make our ice cream lactose free, and easier to digest for everybody (with or without lactose issues).
Why are there added vitamins and minerals?
